About Us
Good for you. UMD’s project management educational programs grew out of the need for better PM training in the engineering world. Focused on your goals, our courses are developed by engineers for engineers and other employed in technical professions. It’s a perfect match for those of you who are in IT software development, Systems Development, Engineering design, and large capitol/construction projects.
Typically we graduate from a university with an undergraduate technical degree having spent 4 or 5 years developing technical competence. Unfortunately 67% of what we need to be successful in our career are emotional competencies.
Although you do not have to be an engineer to enter our graduate program, you do have to qualify for the Graduate School of Engineering. That means in part at least three semesters of calculus and one of differential equations.
Understanding the basics of project management gives you a distinct competitive advantage in employment opportunities.
